家庭菜園でタマネギを作った。昨年9月中旬に、玉ねぎの種を10㎝間隔で2.5m程2列10粒ずつ蒔いた。12月初めに、混んだ場所の苗を植え替えた。苗は大きくはなかった。10㎝間隔で2.5m幅で3列を3ヶ所。
3月下旬頃から、種を蒔いた箇所の混んだ箇所は、葉を収穫して食べだした。
5月下旬にタマネギを収穫。苗を植え替えた箇所の玉ねぎは玉が小さい。小さいが皮を剥いてそのまま、フライパンで焼いたり、鍋で煮て食べる。丸のまま口に入れて、かみ砕くときの食感がいいし、甘くて旨い。
種を蒔く時期が遅く、苗が小さいかったので玉が大きくできかったが、小さいタマネギの方が、いいなと思う。皮を剥く手間は掛ります。
