Little grebe’s parenting
Two little grebe chicks were found on a floating nest at the Moro River. It seems that it hatched a few days ago. There were three eggs. Parents are busy taking care of their children, repairing nest and warming eggs. August 21, 2020.
毛呂川で浮巣の上にいたカイツブリの雛を発見。２，３日前に生まれた雛が２匹と卵が３個。両親は、子供の世話、巣の補修と卵の温めで大忙し。2020年8月21日、毛呂川河口。

Bees were collecting nectar and pollen.
土手に咲くヒマワリ。ミツバチが蜜と花粉を集めていました。
Drying wings of grey heron
August 1, 2020. It’s been a while since I’ve seen grey heron drying its wings.

2020年6月20日12:14～13:26。生後1～2日目の雛達がアマガエルを捕食していた。カエルの頭から水を利用してカエルを飲み込んでいる雛もいれば、飲み込むのに悪戦苦闘していた雛もいました。
June 20, 2020 12:14 to 13:26. Chicks on the first or second day after birth were preying on tree frogs. Some chicks swallowed frogs from the frog’s head with water, while others were struggling to swallow them.

2020年6月20日に川デビューした所に出くわした。大谷木川では、今年始めての雛達。昨日生まれたのだろう。
